How I can help…

I am here to meet you where you are right now, whether that’s feeling overwhelmed, empty, unmotivated, sad, or disconnected.  We will work together to uncover your existing strengths, passions, and motivation. We will look at lifestyle patterns in all areas of your life including exercise, nutrition, spirituality, social connections, and financial beliefs and behaviors that are not allowing you to reach your goals. By becoming aware of these negative behavior patterns you will be able to make small changes that will have a domino effect. Even the smallest amount of progress can relieve that “stuck” feeling, which propels further change and improvement.

If you are coming in because you have experienced a loss and are struggling to regain your footing, this will look a little different. In other areas of change we set goals, define values and look to growth. With grief, there is no goal to be achieved or problem to be fixed. There may be just great sadness, or a complicated mix of emotions, to be brought to awareness, felt, and expressed in a safe place. In this case I am your companion in your pain, not your agent for change. In this witnessing and holding a place for your pain, your healing can begin.

I have been told by clients that my superpower is seeing patterns and connections in their lives that they could not. I have also often heard that my ability to connect with them has made them feel seen, heard, more connected to themselves and others, and more empowered than ever.

You will find that the combination of my clinical knowledge, my passion for seeing others succeed, plus the wisdom I have gained from my own personal experiences creates a safe, highly effective and comfortable space for you to explore and create a future that is aligned with your values and goals.

My Background…

In 1986 I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science and Finance from the State University of New York at Geneseo. While working in the financial world I realized I was more drawn to and more suited to working with people’s stories and human behavior than numbers. Following this passion, in 2008 I earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling, including completing an additional year for a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Argosy University Atlanta.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (Lic. #LPC006856) and a Board Certified Counselor (Lic. #237424), and Board Certified in Telemental Health. I have also completed training to earn the designation of Certified Financial Social Work Counselor. I am an active member of the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia, American Counseling Association, Financial Therapy Association. I am currently pursuing the designation of Certified Financial Therapist. Although I do not currently see couples, I have extensive training in couples counseling which is useful in individual therapy when working on relationship issues.
